There is no universally best rug. There is a better material for the room, the traffic and the feeling you want.
The making
Four parts. No shortcuts.
01 — Material
Wool brings warmth and depth. Jute brings structure and a drier, natural texture.
02 — Design
The composition is resolved before the first line is woven, but the hand is allowed to remain visible.
03 — Weaving
Hand-knotting builds pile and softness. Handweaving builds a flatter, more graphic surface.
04 — Finishing
Edges, surface and proportions are checked so the piece feels considered from every side.
