Material, tension, pile, pattern, finishing. Craft is not one flourish at the end. It is the whole process.

01 —
Wool or jute?

Choose wool for softness, warmth and depth. Choose jute for a flatter, firmer texture and a more grounded feel.

02 —
Design by hand

The composition is resolved before weaving begins. Small shifts in line and tone stay visible as evidence of the hand.

03 —
Knot or weave?

Hand-knotting builds pile, softness and dimension. Handweaving creates a flatter, firmer and more graphic surface.

04 —
Finish and care

Edges and surface are finished by hand. Vacuum gently, rotate occasionally and blot spills promptly to keep them that way.

A restrained rug can still have depth. The interest comes from fibre, weave and the shadow each surface catches.
